Chidike Vincent

Grace of God

I started in 2021, designing products and building client websites on Wix. Not a line of code in sight.

In 2023 I moved to Sheffield for my master's in computing and wrote my first line of code.

Since then: three research papers, one of which won Best Paper, and a handful of products in the UK.

Story

2021

The first thing I co-founded was a web design agency, built entirely on Wix.

  • Thirteen Eleven Design and Technology, now being rebranded as Thirteen Eleven Studio.
  • More than 13 client websites between 2021 and 2023, all product design and no-code Wix.
  • I led the client projects and managed design and delivery.

2023

In August 2023 I moved to Sheffield for an MSc in Computing and started again from zero.

  • MSc Computing at Sheffield Hallam University, from September 2023.
  • My first real code: React interfaces and data-flow design for an internal attendance platform for lecturers, as a volunteer, December 2023 to September 2024.
  • Alongside it, a job in student welfare as an Accommodation Assistant.

2024 to 2025

Outside lectures, I took a placement year, co-founded a tech community and did a lot of teaching.

Me presenting at a Teknoozu event, standing beside a projected slide on quantum gates
  • Software Developer Intern at Traavu in Birmingham, June 2024 to May 2025.
  • Teknoozu: three events and more than 80 students mentored, starting with the Cloud Challenge on 26 July 2024.
  • Cover supervisor and teaching assistant in Sheffield schools, Computer Science teacher at Handsworth Grange in 2025, course representative, and a judge at the FutureTech Appathon.

2025

In 2025 I built a search-and-rescue drone that keeps the 19 frames that matter out of 4,024.

Me speaking into a lectern microphone at IoT 2025 in Vienna, wearing a TU Wien lanyard
  • 906 MB down to 32 MB, with 77% less energy, on a Raspberry Pi 4 on board.
  • Best Paper at IoT 2025 in Vienna, from 72 submissions across 26 countries.
  • Also Campus Jobs Student Employee of the Year 2025.

2025 to 2026

Then came client work: four products for UK organisations, at four quite different stages.

Searching the Prompt Bnk library for plan, clearing it, then filtering by one category
  • Prompt Bnk is live, with more than 50 subscribers in its initial launch period.
  • Workplace Scientifics is in user testing, Tables Stick is live and Simply Connect is in development.
  • In November 2025 I finished the MSc with a Distinction.

2026

In 2026 my research went to a city farm and to the human heart. Not all of it worked first time.

Me inside an enclosure at Heeley City Farm, reaching up to a sensor unit on the wall with a laptop in my other hand
  • Heeley City Farm: five enclosures, 88,000+ polling cycles since July 2026, and a paper accepted at IoT 2026.
  • An animal filter that only knew side-on photos rejected over 89% of my overhead images, so I switched it off. From 13 July a partly obscured lens affected 63% of the chicken images in phase two.
  • Mood detection: recall for the rarest class on DREAMER rose from 7.8% to 56.3%, federated training came within 2.7 points of centralised, and it was presented in Athens.

2026

Most recently I co-founded The Frank Initiative, and its first project is Fund for Charity.

The payment step, switching between card, transfer and bank, with the fee shown before paying
  • Fund for Charity is built and ready: one donation settles a verified orphanage in Nigeria and the platform commission, across two currencies.
  • I am Director of Technology: product design, architecture, full-stack development and payments.
  • Teknoozu is still going, and Thirteen Eleven Studio, where this started, is being rebranded.

That is the short version. The CV below has the long one, with fewer jokes.

Hi. Tell me your name and I will use it now and then as you look around. It stays on this device. I never collect it, so not even I will know.
